Recently, many new constructional materials have been introduced during the construction and reconstruction of railway infrastructure facilities.
Composite reinforcing elements are used to strengthen the foundation of the subgrade formation, and to strengthen the slopes of embankments, in the foundations of structures necessary to maintain the railway operation. In particular, metal reinforcement is replaced with composite reinforcement in the supports of the contact network, composite parts are used to create suspension elements of the contact network.
Reinforced concrete and metal structures are exposed to external factors during operation, which leads to defects. Composite elements are resistant to corrosion and atmospheric phenomena and provide the possibility to exclude special maintenance of facilities, to preserve their service life and environmental safety. The dielectric properties of composite reinforcing materials may simplify the design of load-bearing elements during the installation of the contact network.
